Directional Boring — Water & Gas Lines

GPS-guided underground boring for water, gas, and conduit installation. No open trenches, no surface damage.

What Is Directional Boring?

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), also called directional boring, is a trenchless method of installing underground pipes and conduit along a precise, pre-planned path. Using GPS-guided drill heads, we can bore under roads, driveways, landscaping, and structures with minimal surface disruption.

GLPS Sewer Services uses directional boring for water line installation, gas line installation, and conduit routing throughout South Bay and greater Los Angeles — delivering precision results without the cost and disruption of open-cut trenching.

How Directional Boring Works

01

Site Survey & Planning

We survey the bore path, check for existing utilities, and plan the entry and exit points to ensure a precise, safe installation.

02

Pilot Bore

A small drill head is guided along the planned path using GPS tracking, creating a pilot bore with pinpoint accuracy.

03

Reaming & Pipe Pulling

The pilot bore is enlarged to the required diameter, then the new pipe is pulled back through the bore path in a single pass.

04

Connection & Testing

The new pipe is connected at both ends and pressure-tested to confirm integrity before backfilling the small entry and exit pits.

Applications

Water Lines

Install new water service lines under roads, driveways, and landscaping without surface disruption.

Gas Lines

Safe, precise installation of gas distribution lines in residential and commercial settings.

Conduit & Cable

Route electrical conduit, fiber optic, and communication cables under obstacles with no open trenching.

Environmentally Sensitive Areas

Cross under trees, wetlands, and protected areas where surface disturbance is not permitted.
